Getting to see my best friend in person after 5 years!

Hey Sunny Siders, there was no blog last week and that’s because I had a jam packed weekend visiting my best friend who I hadn’t seen in person in 5 years!

The last time the two of us got together was in summer 2019 at Disneyland before either of us had started college. I went to visit my friend to celebrate her college graduation and start of graduate school this upcoming fall semester.

It was such a wonderful trip and I’m so glad I got to be present and in the moment making lasting memories with my friend.

My first stop of the trip was a late night In-N-Out run as I also haven’t had their delicious burger and neapolitan shake in 5 years! It was just as good as I remembered it, and luckily I got to have one more burger from them my trip ended.

My best friend has celiac, so she took me to her favorite gluten free bagel place! I tried lox for the first time and loved it! This lox in particular was brown sugar cured and wow was it amazing! We also split a strawberry donut and it was equally delicious as the bagel!

I finally got to try Blue Bottle coffee, one of the shops that all the influencers I follow rave about. I will say my jaw dropped to the floor at paying $7.50 for a small iced latte, but at least it tasted delicious. I’d probably never spend that much on coffee again, but I will say it was a great coffee!

The day of the graduation party my friend and I got our nails done and the yellow with chrome that she got was gorgeous, so I think I’ll be stealing that for my next appointment!

I got a chance to visit with my best friend’s neighbor who sells and trades pins for a living. We met up so I could complete a trade I was so so excited about! She managed to find me 7 of the Club Penguin Penguin pins that my brother and I had been scouting for for months now. Her office was so beautiful with all these framed boards featuring limited edition pins.

I mentioned earlier that I got my In-N-Out fix twice on this trip and the second time was absolutely crazy! My friends parents had In-N-Out cater the graduation party! They brought an entire semi truck complete with drink stations and everything. Genuinely the coolest and best party food ever.

And here’s just a cute picture that my friends mom took as they dropped me off at the airport for my flight home. I had such a great time and I’m so happy I got to go visit my best friend this summer. We have been trying to get together for so long now and I’m so happy it finally worked out! Can’t wait to see her again real soon, the perks of not being a student and being able to take time off!
