Hey Sunny Siders, I’m finally sharing a recap of my golden birthday! This is funny for a number of reasons, the biggest one being that my golden birthday was almost half a year ago at this point. But even if it isn’t timely, I still wanted to share as this was a special birthday indeed.
I want to give a special thanks to my mom for all the planning and dedication she put to making this little weekend special. She went all out with the gold theme and really worked so hard to make it the most special birthday yet and it truly was.
I wanted something simple with my family and that is exactly what I got! It was just me, my parents, my brother, my boyfriend, and my cousin who flew out to visit me which was so incredibly special.
The weekend started with a trip to Disney Springs. I had wanted to buy some items from my favorite store UNIQLO and we started out time off there so I could take advantage of the free alterations!
We then had dinner at the Edison which was phenomenal! I had an amazing cold brew martini and a delicious short rib dish for dinner.
On the day of my actual birthday we started off the morning opening presents. I got some wonderful gifts, with some of my favorites being a matching wallet to my vintage Louis Vuitton bag, the limited edition Journal 3 from Gravity Falls, a gold leaf copy of Hyperion by Dan Simmons, a fresh bouquet of Blue Bells, a Demon Slayer coloring book, and my grandmother’s gold necklace. The necklace was super special and I just recently got a little charm to put on it and have been wearing it everyday.
After presents, we went to get pastries for breakfast. Then we spent the day thrifting before going to dinner at a Japanese tapas place called Thrive.
After dinner we came back to my apartment and sang happy birthday before having some delicious birthday cake. This was what I was most excited for, as it is my favorite seasonal cake from a bakery in St. Augustine.
After all the celebrations were done, we ended my birthday with a few party games. The next day we spent some time by the pool and had a little barbecue for dinner.
Overall, it was simple and elegant just like I wanted. I had such a blast spending time with my family and it truly was a great time.
