I Tried the Highest Quality of Beef in the World

Hello friends, and welcome to another Foodie Friday! Today, I’m going to tell you about the most fantastic fine dining experience I’ve ever had.

For my brothers birthday this year he wanted to go to a fancy restaurant that he found called Benny’s Chophouse. We went and it was truly an amazing experience I’ll never forget. We drove to the restaurant and had a nice city view from our table. I had a Power Salad with kale, romaine, brussels sprouts, red quinoa, edamame, apple, gouda, almond slivers, and a honey mustard vinaigrette for my appetizer. It was so light and refreshing, I loved every bite. For dinner, I had a Japanese Black Grade A5 Miyazaki Skirt Steak. It was so tender and delicious. The sauce it came with was bursting with flavor and paired nicely with my side order of asparagus. Since it was my brothers birthday, he got a very special steak. Benny’s Chophouse is one of 6 restaurants that is certified to carry Japanese Black Grade A5 Tajik Kobe Filet. It is the highest grade of meat in the entire world and is the only “true” Kobe beef. The steak was so tender, it could be cut with a fork, no wonder it costed $249.99! It was truly worth the experience to get to try this cut of meat, it was so tender and delicious I have never tasted anything like it before. To end the night, we ordered desserts. I got their Chocolate Layer Cake, my mom got Carrot Cake, and my dad got Banana Cream Pie. The portions were enormous! My cake had fudge instead of frosting in between layers! It was the most moist and decadent cake I have ever had and I savored every bite. The Carrot Cake and Banana Cream Pie were also delicious, they both weren’t too sweet and had a nice lightness. Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience at Benny’s Chophouse celebrating my brother birthday. I am so glad that I got to experience a meal time this, it truly was unforgettable.

I hope you all enjoyed this weeks installment of Foodie Friday. If you ever get a chance to go to Benny’s Chophouse I highly recommend it.

My GOATMEAL Recipe

Hello friends, and welcome to another Foodie Friday! Today, I’m going to teach you how to make my GOATMEAL (Greatest of all time oatmeal).

Ingredients:

• 1/4 c plain instant oats of your choosing

• Water

• 1 medium banana

• 1 c of blueberries (optional)

• 1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein (optional)

• 1 T cinnamon

• 1T all natural peanut butter (optional)

Directions:

Add 1/4 c oats to bowl. Fill with water till oats are barely covered. Add 1 T cinnamon to mixture and stir till incorporated. Microwave for 2-2:30 mins. While microwave is running, slice banana into pieces. When oatmeal is finished top off with banana, blueberries, peanut butter, and a sprinkling of cinnamon. If you want to add some protein to this recipe, add extra liquid to the bowl after the oats are cooked and carefully stir in a 1/2 scoop of a protein powder of your choosing. I like to use a chocolate protein power to give the GOATMEAL a chocolate banana flavor that is delicious and filling.

And that’s it! It’s such an easy recipe, but it is SO AMAZING. I could eat it everyday if I had to. If you decide to give this recipe a try, let me know what you think. I’d love to hear all your feedback!

Sincerely, Sunnysidewithsiri

The Best Avocado Toast I’ve Ever Had!

Hello friends, and welcome to the first installment of Foodie Fridays! In these blog posts, I’ll be talking about a some of my favorite foods and or restaurants. Today we will be talking about my favorite avocado toast of all time.

Yes… avocado toast call me basic, but you cannot knock it until you try it. I used to think “eww avocado on toast, that sounds disgusting,” but now it’s become a breakfast MUST have. My favorite avocado toast comes from this adorable coffee shop about 40 minutes from my house called Endiro Coffee. On their menu they have some delicious Ugandan coffees and lattes (my personal favorite is the Sticky Bun Latte). But what sets Endiro apart from other coffee houses is their food— more importantly— their avocado toast. It’s served on Penne bread which gives it a perfect chewy and crunchy texture. On top of that, there is an oven-dried tomato aioli beneath the slices of avocado that is TO DIE FOR. Sliced tomato and fresh basil are layered on the avocado giving it a beautifully light and fresh taste. Topping off the toast is a sprinkling of red pepper flakes for a little bit of heat, that seriously sets this avocado toast over the edge. I mean, who doesn’t love a little spice? I could go on FOREVER talking about how phenomenal this toast is, but I’ll let you be the judge of it yourself. Endiro’s avocado toast truly is love at first bite.

I hope you all enjoyed this first installment of Foodie Friday. I look forward to getting my #foodie on with all of you.

Why Sunny Side Up With Siri?

To me, people are a lot like eggs. Every person is different, just like the different preparations for eggs. For example, some people are tough on the outside, but once you break that “shell” they can be soft and caring. Others appear soft on the outside, but can be really tough on the inside. Some are delicate and find it hard to stay together without letting it all “ooze” out. For me, I think I’m a lot like a sunny side up egg. I lay all my cards out on the table, and there is a fine line between what I appear like and what I am actually like. I’m a big softy, but if you mess with me it’s going to be hard to clean up. Through this blog, just like a sunny side up egg, I will give you the whole truth and nothing but the truth. No hidden meanings or interpretations necessary.

I challenge all of you to think of what type of egg you are like. Are you a sunny side up like me, or are you something else entirely?

Introduction

Why hello there!

My name is Siri (yes, just like the iPhone), and welcome to my blog.

I’m a young adult who loves all things fitness, food, and photography. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, creating lasting memories along the way.

Why create a blog? Well, let me tell you.

  • I am about to embark on a new chapter of my life, it’s this thing people like to call “college,” and I’d like to share my journey and lessons I learn along the way.

Here is what I hope to accomplish through this blog.

  • Motivational Mondays – The first Monday of each month I plan to start off by giving my audience some tips I’ve learned on how to stay positive when life gets tough.
  • Workout Wednesdays – Every other Wednesday I’ll post about my current fitness goals, routine, and journey. I’ll even share some of my favorite workouts at the time.
  • Foodie Fridays – Each Friday I’ll have a short post about a new or favorite restaurant/entree that I love. Don’t worry, of course there’ll be pictures.
  • Story time Saturdays – On Saturday, I’ll share either a recap of the week, or a fond memory from my childhood.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog, looking forward to sharing my journey with you all!
