Blogmas Day 17: My Christmas Decor!

Hello Sunny Siders and welcome back to another Blogmas! As we grow closer to Christmas, I wanted to ramp up the festivities and what better way than to take a look at the holiday decor I have in my apartment!

I definitely go more all out for Halloween which is my favorite holiday, but I love my cozy little set up for Christmas this year!

Cozy living room set up with our mini tree, stockings, and countdown calendar!
Our reading nook/coffee bar is so festive with these Christmas lights!
We have these shelves in the entryway of our apartment, making them the perfect spot for some holiday knickknacks.
A close up look of course tiny Christmas tree. We haven’t invested in a full size one yet because we love this little guy! Peep at the Sunny Sider Crafts logo ornament.
More Christmas lights above our couch. Lights are definitely my favorite simple way to make a space cozy and festive.

Blogmas Day 3: Decorating for Christmas: Before or After Thanksgiving

Hello Sunny Siders and happy Blogmas day 3!

Today we’re discussing my personal stance on decorating for Christmas and if I think it should happen before or after Thanksgiving.

My answer is that yes, I decorate for Christmas prior to Thanksgiving, although I’m typically not someone to decorate the moment Halloween ends.

I’m a fall girl through and through so oftentimes I wait as long as possible to take down my Halloween and fall decorations to replace them with Christmas.

However, this year I think I decorated for fall too early (actually shocking, I know) and I was kind of tired of my decorations by the time Halloween rolled around. This year I ended up starting my Christmas decorating at the beginning of November because I wanted to change it up.

This year is actually the earliest I’ve ever decorated for Christmas, so we will see how I’m feeling in a few weeks and if I’m tired of it like I became with my fall decor.

Growing up, we always waited until after Thanksgiving to put up our decorations and our Christmas tree. But, even back home my family has started putting up decorations earlier. This is mainly because they come to visit my brother and I for the holidays and if they waited until after Thanksgiving they wouldn’t be home very much to enjoy the efforts of their labor.

Personally, I think we should all do what makes us the happiest! However, with a later Thanksgiving like this year I would bet most people decorated early because otherwise they don’t get to enjoy their hard work as long as possible!

Fall Decor In My Home

Hey Sunny Siders and happy first official day of fall! As you know I’ve been in fall mode since August, but to celebrate the start of my favorite season of the year, I wanted to share some photos of how I’ve decorated for fall and Halloween this year!

I hope these photos of my home can serve as inspiration for how you can decorate your home for the fall season! Looking forward to a great few months of fall flavors and fun!

Vibes at my new apartment

Hello Sunny Siders, today I wanted to share some of my favorite views in my new apartment! I will add links to all the items in case you are in the market for some new furniture, or are getting ready to move yourself!

Bedroom

I absolutely adore my new bed frame and comforter. Both are so incredibly cozy and fits my aesthetic perfectly! The bed frame was so easy to put together and I’m obsessed with the bubble design.

Nightstand

I got this amazing set of nightstands that give off the best mid-century modern vibes I was looking for. They were super affordable and the quality is really great! They were so easy to put together and I smile every time I enter my bedroom.

Couch

I wasn’t quite ready to invest in a real couch, so I found this amazing inflatable one on Amazon! The couch isn’t the best quality, but it’s comfortable and is working as I wait to get a real one. The throw pillows are from Marshall’s and truly are the softest throw pillows I’ve ever had!

TV Stand

Continuing on with the mid-century modern theme is my TV stand. I absolutely love it! It’s from the same company as the nightstands and the quality is amazing for the price. It holds all my DVDs and video games perfectly!

Cloud Coffee Table

Probably my favorite piece in the living room is my rounded bubble coffee table. It is such high quality and was exactly what I wanted in a dream coffee table!

Anime Wall Art

This actually wasn’t purchased, I made this myself! I looked up scenes of my favorite mangas and saved them to a word doc. Then I printed them on card stock paper and placed them on my wall using sticky tack! I truly love this piece, it is the focal point of my living room and I am in love!

Cozy Corner

My apartment has a spot for a dining room, but I don’t have a dining room set. I decided to make it a reading corner instead! The side table is another crucial piece to tie my mid century modern vibe together, and the mushroom rug adds a hint of cottage core that I also adore!

Barstools

My apartment has a kitchen island so these green groovy barstools were absolutely perfect! Initially, I thought they were going to be too low, but trust the process they are perfect!

Coffee Corner

I am a huge fan of coffee, and I am obsessed with my new coffee corner in my kitchen. It’s all my favorite things: retro, cream, and mushroom core!

Entryway Stand

I love having a little place to put my purse and keys when I get home from work. My favorite part of this space though is the Rengoku manga stills that my dad got me for Christmas in 2022. I smile every time I see them.

Demon Slayer Shrine

If you couldn’t already tell, I love anime! I especially love Demon Slayer. I dedicated one of my built in shelves to my manga collection, along with my Rengoku figure that my brother got me for Christmas and my college graduation cap!

Furniture in my new apartment that I love (Blogmas Day 19)

Hey Sunny Siders, today I’m sharing some furniture pieces from my new apartment that I have nothing but good things to say about.

Superjare nightstands

I love these charging nightstands I got for my bedroom. They look retro without having the retro price, and were super easy to build. The kit came with its own quality screw driver, extra hardware for screws and dowels, and lots of hardware to make things extra sturdy. I love them!

Superjare entertainment stand

Same brand as last time, but this one is an entertainment stand. Once again it was super easy to build, came with a screw driver, and had extra hardware. I love how simple and elegant this looks in my home.

GrandNoor barstools

My apartment has a kitchen island so instead of buying a table and chairs I just got barstools to sit at the island. At first I thought they were going to be too short, don’t panic! As soon as you up the chairs together it’s the perfect bar stool height. Took me longer to unwrap all the protective foam than to build the chairs!

Guyii cloud coffee table

Obsessed with this piece. It’s so sturdy and was packaged so securely. All I had to do was screw on the legs which took 2 minutes max. It’s a lower to the ground coffee table, but I love it!

Bamworld rattan side table

This one is super elegant and classy as a side table. I didn’t build this one, but my mom said it was super easy and straightforward. It’s got real tempered glass on top and looks super chic.
